Right This Way – Follow Me!

Being that I am participating in the Ultimate Blog Party ’11, and just starting out at this blogging thing – I thought I’d take a moment to ask a favor of my sweet readers.

If you enjoy what you see here at Stress Case, want to get to know me better, think Handsome Husband is a total cutie, or just want to know what happens next – please Subscribe to my Blog, or Follow Me via Google Friend Connect!

Because I know some people are unclear on the concepts (I just spent 15 minutes reading Blogging for Dummies to understand it myself!), I thought I would try and explain how you can stay in the loop with the content I publish here.

There are 3 basic ways in which you can support me and be the first to know and read new content:

1. Follow me via Google Friend Connect – this is how I follow the majority of blogs I read.  On the sidebar to your right, scroll down until you see a section labeled “Followers” followed by a Google button labeled “Follow.”  If you have a Google or Blogger account, this is the most efficient way!  Click the “Follow” button – from there you can sign in with a variety of different accounts including Google, Twitter, Yahoo, AIM, and Open ID.  Simply choose the account you’d like to use, and enter your log-in information.  Confirm you want to Follow Stress Case, and you’re done!  Your icon (a photo you can upload if you choose, or a generic silhouette) will show up under “Followers” and now we can be BFFs.

2. Follow me via Feed.  I use this method as well for blogs that do not have an easily accessible Google Friend Connect following method.  Feeds can be viewed on a variety of “Readers,” the most popular being Google Reader.  To follow via feed, scroll down on the right sidebar to the section labeled “Subscribe To” and choose the option you prefer (Posts will allow you to see all posts published sans comments, All Comments will allow you to view comments along with posts).  From the drop-down menu, choose the Reader you’d like to use – again, I recommend Google.  Using Google as an example, once you select from the drop-down menu, you will be asked whether you prefer to see the Feed on your Google homepage or through Google Reader.  I recommend Google Reader so that you have a special page dedicated to blog reading.  This is when Google will prompt you to either sign in to your existing account or create a new one.  Finish up here and you’re subscribed to my feed!  Now you can be the first to read the next Wedding Recap!

3. Follow me via Email.  This is perfect for those of you who don’t read many blogs on a regular basis, but you just adore me so much that you want to keep yourself updated (ahem, that’s you, Gardening Mom).  To follow by Email, scroll down the right sidebar until you see “Follow By Email” and simply enter your email and click the “Submit” button to the right.  There is a spam filter you’ll have to complete, and then you’ll receive a confirmation email.  The email will ask you to activate your subscription with a simple link – click the link and your subscription is activated!  Now you’ll be notified daily of new content, and you can be the first to recreate the next new recipe I try.

I hope this was hopeful, and I truly hope if you enjoy reading this blog, you will choose to follow me in some way or another!

Fellow Bloggers, did I do an okay job explaining?  Any further advice or tips?

Please comment here and let me know if you are a new follower, so I can thank you personally!
